New Hiking and Jogging Trail Near Our Charlottesville Area Inn

For those of you starting to getting a little stir crazy this winter, you will be pleased to know we have a new hiking/jogging trail near our Charlottesville Inn. The new forest preserve park in Blackwells Hollow was recently dedicated in the honor of Patricia Ann Byrom.

On the 600 acre preserve you will find over 6 miles of trails for hiking, biking, running and horses bordering the Shenandoah National Park. This is just one of many ways to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains, right from Sugar Hollow.

Cinco de Mayo, Jefferson Style

Put down the guacamole and lace up your running shoes for Cinco de Mayo this year!  The Montalto Challenge 5K running race is being held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Jefferson's Monticello. This all up-hill race from the base of Saunders-Monticello Trail to the top of Montalto above Jefferson's estate is not your everyday 5K, but if you reach the top you will  be rewarded with an amazing view Monticello, Charlottesville, and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

If you are staying with us at our Virginia inn, after the race you can return to the your whirlpool bath in your room and give your muscles a much deserved break.

Or you can skip the race and just enjoy the bath, your choice.

If I Were A Rich Man, Fiddler Comes to Charlottesville

John Paul Jones Arena is hosting the Tony Award winning musical production Fiddler on the Roof on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. You will remember and love the score which includes the classics "Tradition!", "Matchmaker, Matchmaker", and "If I Were a Rich Man". You are already humming the tunes now aren't you?
