One the best written articles I've seen regarding Thomas Jefferson's vegetable garden at Monticello has appeared on the Southen Living website.

Read up and get ready for the 6th Annual Heritage Harvest Festival, starting tomorrow September 14th. This year the organizers have added a local craft beer garden, which I expect to be quite popular. Other events include workshops, guest speakers, cooking demonstrations, special tours and family activities.
