Restaurant Snapshot: Brasserie Montiel

For Restaurant Week, we had a chance to try out a new restaurant (to us) with a couple of good friends. Brasserie Montiel provided an excellent menu (with beef, pork or fish entree choices) and delightful dining experience. We were very pleased with our meals and service from their friendly and efficient wait staff. We would return in a heartbeat - their "regular" menu also looks excellent.

I was fascinated with the unique presentation of our food - each item among the 4 of us arrived in a different beautiful glass dish or bowl in a pastel color of pale green, rose, amber, etc., each an interesting shape that complimented the food being served. (Editor's note: bring a camera next time, sheesh.)

Chef and owner, Alex Montiel was circulating throughout the restaurant, observing, chatting with guests and making sure all was ship shape. Impressive. We have dined at his restaurant in Crozet, La Cocina del Sol, and have sent many of our Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm guests there. We and our guests have always been pleased with their delicious southwestern offerings and service.
