Flowing full tilt after recent rains is our Sugar Hollow reservoir in the foothills of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia. When you stay at the Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm a short walk down the road brings you to this awesome sight. Just a bit beyond the scenic Sugar Hollow dam and reservoir you will find the beginning of the trail that takes you to the top of the Blue Ridge, to the Appalachian Trail. Enjoy one of the best hikes ever!

If a short walk to the reservoir isn't your cup of tea, walk nearby and enjoy the rain-swollen stream that, just a few steps away, rushes past the Inn.

Kayaking in the Moormans River in Sugar Hollow Near Charlottesville

 If you are a kayaking enthusiast, now would be a good time to break out your kayaking gear!  We've had about 3 inches of rain here in the Hollow in a relatively short period of time, so the Moormans River is really high!  Quite a thrill for the bold (and skilled) adventurer. But a sight to behold even if you just take a leisurely walk along Sugar Hollow Road. And, if you need a place to stay, I know a quaint little bed and breakfast tucked right in the Hollow just across the street from the Moormans River.  The clouds are parting and bright blue sky is coming over the mountain.  Come see us!
