Appellation Trail, a wine route that connects five fantastic wineries. And, as luck would have it, all are located just a hop, skip and a jump from The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm. It may be a little cloudy on Friday and Saturday, but, rain or shine, if you 're interested in premier wines, talented musicians and scrumptious food, the heart of the Blue Ridge is the place to be.
Our neighbors just as you enter Sugar Hollow at Stinson Vineyards are planing quite a party on Saturday from noon to 5 pm. And the folks at Stinson know how mountain people throw a party in the Blue Ridge: they've invited Grit City Grass Band, a great Virginia bluegrass band, and Grill God Collins Huff to serve pulled pork sliders. I can't think of a better compliment to a really good glass of wine than BBQ and bluegrass. The folks at Whitehall Vineyards, our other neighbors on Sugar Ridge, about two miles from our door, are planning a party as well, featuring fresh peaches, Soliterre and the bluegrass sounds of Tara Mills. So, if you are a local or headed to the mountains this weekend to escape the rat race, the Appellation Trail is a good bet for a great time. Of course, you'll need a place to stay and, if you're looking for a quaint little bed and breakfast close by, The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm has a lovely room for you. Come see us!
