At The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm we awoke on a recent morning to discover that over 100 Monarch butterflies had swooped in to rest on the purple butterfly bush blossoms just off our terrace. A 2-day gentle rainfall had rejuvenated the blossoms and made them oh-so appealing to the butterflies.
Over the next few weeks of Indian summer we will continue to see a flourish of Monarchs passing through on their way to the mountains of N.W. Mexico. Did you know that the Monarchs that start the long journey are not the ones that finish it? It takes about 3 generations in one season for the Monarchs to reach their final destination.
