CHARLOTTESVILLE,VA SNOW FALL AND FIREPLACES

And it did snow! Looks exactly like the photo. Snow fall on the mountain sides is magical and definitely puts one in the mood for Christmas. Sitting in front of a roaring fire in Sugar Hollow and watching the snow fall outside, hmmm......doesn't get much better than that.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA A FIRST FOR SUGAR HOLLOW

TRIPLETS !  We have been welcoming guests to the Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm for over 14 years and this past weekend was the first time we have welcomed triplets.

These fine 14 year old young ladies came with their parents for a Thanksgiving holiday getaway. They made the most of their 4 days with us, enjoying visiting Monticello and the University of Virginia, but most of all they enjoyed our area's great hiking. One day they hiked to the top of Humpback Rock to take in the magnificent 360 degree views. The hike is a total 2 miles roundtrip -- and it gains 720 feet along the way.

Another day they took in Crabtree Falls, in the George Washington National Park. These falls are arguably the most beautiful set of waterfalls in Virginia and the falls with the tallest vertical drop east of the Mississippi River. The triplets loved the successive falls along the trail, which were flowing impressively because of recent rains. Not least of all hiking into the Shenandoah National Park right from Sugar Hollow was a great way to end their adventurous weekend of family fun.
